Spyro is back and he's shinier than ever!

Originally made in 1998, Spyro was an iconic Playstation hit; and now 20 years later, the wait is over, and the reignited trilogy have come back in full force with incredible visual improvements - Although the voices have been mostly re-cast for obvious reasons, the soundtrack, story and locations have remained entirely true to the original.

Toys for Bob's has remade all the cutscenes with new animation, scene direction and camerawork, and the overall game has some simple yet effective detail updates such as blades of grass, lighting effects and a landscape that makes the area you're in more of a larger, more immersive world.

The controls are a generally more user friendly; but the awkward PS1-in-wall camera angles can still cause an absolute headache.

It appears to run at native 4K on Xbox One X and keeps resolution parity with the PS4 Pro.

Digital Foundry has recently conducted an analysis of the PS4 version of Spyro Reignited Trilogy and confirmed that the game runs at native 1440p on both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. Even with the resolution parity, Xbox One X doesn’t offer anything unique in term of visual upgrade aside from just better shadows.

Although praised for being a highly sought over classic, do you think that the re-ignited trilogy is just childhood nostalgia or is a still remains genuinely fun series of games?
