Our top 5 Marvel film picks!

After 22 movies, our final wave of The Infinity Stone story arc has come to a close.

Avengers: Endgame was a 3 hour emotional rollercoaster that brings our characters stories to a satisfying close.

Minus Endgame here are our top 10 picks for Marvel films over the years.

5. The Avengers (2012)

Loki, the adopted brother of Thor, teams-up with the Chitauri Army and uses the Tesseract's power to travel from Asgard to Midgard to plot the invasion of Earth and become a king. The director of the agency S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury, sets in motion project Avengers, joining Tony Stark a.k.a. the Iron Man; Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America; Bruce Banner, a.k.a. The Hulk; Thor; Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow; and Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, to save the world from the powerful Loki and the alien invasion.

The very first time we see all the main characters of the MCU fighting together!

4. Iron Man (2008)

Tony Stark. Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. Son of legendary inventor and weapons contractor Howard Stark. When Tony Stark is assigned to give a weapons presentation to an Iraqi unit led by Lt. Col. James Rhodes, he's given a ride on enemy lines. That ride ends badly when Stark's Humvee that he's riding in is attacked by enemy combatants. He survives - barely - with a chest full of shrapnel and a car battery attached to his heart. In order to survive he comes up with a way to miniaturise the battery and figures out that the battery can power something else. Thus Iron Man is born. He uses the primitive device to escape from the cave in Iraq. Once back home, he then begins work on perfecting the Iron Man suit. But the man who was put in charge of Stark Industries has plans of his own to take over Tony's technology for other matters.

The very first film to set the MCU in motion. An absolute unmissable must.

3. Captain America: Civil War (2016)

With many people fearing the actions of super heroes, the government decides to push for the Hero Registration Act, a law that limits a hero's actions. This results in a division in The Avengers. Iron Man stands with this Act, claiming that their actions must be kept in check otherwise cities will continue to be destroyed, but Captain America feels that saving the world is daring enough and that they cannot rely on the government to protect the world. This escalates into an all-out war between Team Iron Man (Iron Man, Black Panther, Vision, Black Widow, War Machine, and Spider-Man) and Team Captain America (Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and Ant Man) while a new villain emerges.

An action packed rollercoaster with a fight scene to trump all fight scenes.

2. Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)

After discovering a mysterious orb in another part of the galaxy, Peter Quill from Earth, is now the main target of a manhunt led by the genocidal villain Ronan the Accuser. Being hunted across the galaxy, Quill gets lumped together with a group of misfits that need to learn how to get along before they can become the "Guardians of the Galaxy".

With a great soundtrack and a campy sense of humour, all around such great fun.

1. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Four years after defeating the Dark Elves and two years after the fight in Sokovia, Thor now finds himself trapped on the other side of the universe on the wacky planet of Sakaar. Meanwhile, a new threat rises as the evil Hela, Goddess of Death takes over Asgard and plans to conquer the universe. In order to get home, Thor must compete in a gladiator match against the defending champion of the Grandmaster. Little does Thor know is that the champion is his old friend and fellow Avenger, the Incredible Hulk. Teaming with Hulk and his deceptive brother Loki, Thor must return home to Asgard in time to stop Hela and prevent the approaching Ragnarok, the apocalyptic destruction of Asgard.

Thor Ragnarok gives us a fully realised Thor with new levels of colour, character and all around, for definite the funniest and most lighthearted film in the MCU. We couldn't possibly expect any less with director Taika Waititi and Jeff Goldblum.. just being Jeff Goldblum now could we.

Did you agree with our list? What're your favourites?

Before you go and watch Endgame I would recommend you at least watch the previous Avengers film, Infinity War and Ant Man to catch up with what's happening and understand some of the space science they use! Don't forget to bring tissues!
