AKG new model ahead of the rest. You heard it ear (geddit? - ear - here)

AKG are very well known
for their class leading Microphones and also for their excellent
range of headphones, but just recently they have decided to push
the boundaries.
May we introduce the K601 Reference class headphones.
Beautifully designed they look and feel very classy indeed. Rest assured that looks however, are not their only strong point.
As soon as you place them on your head you feel your wearing something special. And special they are.
They present music with great authority and detail, but they do so with one of the most likeable tonal balances of any headphone we've tried. Whilst we will admit there are better headphones, the K601's are just so very difficult to put down. These really are a headphone to wear for long periods that will leave with nothing but a sense of relaxation. They're on permanent demonstration - so come in and relax.
We think that they go straight to the head of the pack. (The 'head' of the pack - you know I still don't think you get it).

Push to live!

With the increase in popularity of
in-ear phones that can seal of as much as 90% of external noises,
the question comes into effect of safety. It's one thing to relax
in your chair at home and sit in blissful ignorance of all the
sounds around you, but quite another thing to walk around the
streets or cycle the roads with no auditory signal that your just
about to be run over by an articulated lorry!

The cleaver chaps at Shure have produced a small device called the 'Push to hear' (PTH) monitor. Plug it between your earphones and your portable device and you can adjust just how much of the outside sounds it lets you monitor by the use of a small microphone.
It's also handy when your fourteen year old asks you for some money because it features a fully off position. Selectively deaf my mum used to call it.

Small, but perfectly formed.

Shure Sound Isolating in ear phones are a
complete baffle to us. Why I hear you ask (I did hear you ask that
didn't I?). Because each of these perfectly formed little jewels
contains not one, not even two, but three separate speaker drivers.
One dedicated tweeter and a pair of bass drivers! That is just mind
numbing to think of how they fit them in there.
But that's all rendered completely irrelevant by the quality of sound that they give. When something sounds this good do you really care what's in it.
The whole range is wonderful and top of the range 530's are simply astounding and in our humble opinion, the very best in ear phones on the planet.
They come with a range of interchangeable ear pieces - because we're all different after all.
